Christmas Letter

Another year has passed and I find myself wondering where it went. So many things happened, yet I cannot seem to remember much from the year! I guess this happens when you spend so much time on the go with the kids!

I'll start with Barry's year. He is still stationed in Minnesota as a recruiter. We will be here 4 years total because he was extended for an additional year as a recruiter. He is doing well at work and is busy planning his retirement from the army in 2ish years! This past May he underwent hip surgery to fix his hip problems. It is now the proud owner of a new hip! His recovery has been blissfully uneventful and everything has been going wonderful. We were definitely blessed to find such a great surgeon to replace his hip.

Nathan started the year on the swim team and will end the year on the swim team! He is now a high school freshman and loving it! This spring/summer he played on a club soccer team and then in the fall played on the high school JV team and managed the varsity team throughout the playoffs. Now he is happily enjoying the swim team (again) and preparing to have a stellar second year on the team.

Michael is now a sixth grader. He participate in community plays this summer and he also played club soccer in the spring/summer and fall. His fall soccer team had the privilege of winning the state tournament thanks to a talented team and wonderful coaches! Michael also started taking Tae Kwon Do lessons this summer and has speedily progressed to green belt in 4 months. We are so proud of both the boys!

As for myself, I am in the 3rd year at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I spend all my time chauffeuring the boys to sporting events, practice, and friends houses on top of studying. I am so ready for Nathan to have his drivers license so he can drive himself - but that will not happen for another 1 1/2 years. I have only 2 semesters left at school and am busily studying for the teacher licensing exams that I will take this next semester. I do find time to volunteer at the boy's schools and for their sports teams which I find very rewarding.

Here's wishing you and your family's a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
