Yesterday was the boys last day of school. Nathan's teacher threw a going away/welcome party for Nathan and the new student coming in. He had a great time. It made him realize how much he is going to miss Baumholder and all the people he has meet here. Michael had a rough last day. He was pretty emotional about leaving his friends. But his teacher let him be the line leader for the day. I think that helped him a little bit. he is such a little trooper. However tuff he is, he is tired of sharing a bed with his brother. He commented the other day about how he can't wait to get his own bed back! It's just one of the many trials of moving.
I had a pretty good last day at work. The only difficult time I had was saying good-bye to all the kids. Some of them were really sweet. I had a few bring me in good-bye presents (the lollipops were my favorites). The team of teachers that I work with also threw a going away party the day before. I will miss a lot of people. I loved my time here in Baumholder (especially working at the school). But a friend told me that there was a reason that I was leaving, I was needed somewhere else. So let's hope that she is right!!
We fly tomorrow. The kids are excited about getting on the plane. (they just don't like getting up early in the morning to catch it!!) I am relieved that we don't have to worry about the animals. They will arrive on a different airplane the next day. We found out after our tickets were booked that they couldn't fly on the same plane with us, or even the same day! There is a kennel that will board them until Monday and then drive them to the airport for their flight. I am glad that we found a place that would take care of everything for the pets. They even booked the flight for them. That is just one less thing that we have to worry about. So much to do yet, so little time to do it!!
